This website is dedicated to road running in the South-Western Cape of South Africa.
The South-Western Cape of South Africa must be one of the most beautiful places to run in, and with moderate weather conditions, relative safe streets, thousands of running fanatics, many running clubs to run with, several disciplines to choose from, and a variety of places and conditions to run in, this is one of the world's best running areas.
Official races are run under the auspices of Western Province Athletics (WPA), Boland Athletics (BA) and Athletics South Western Districts (ASWD), all affiliated under Athletics South Africa (ASA).
The Old Mutual Two Oceans 56km Ultra Marathon and 21.1km Half Marathon, annually run during Easter Weekend, are the best-known road running races in this area. Local runners, however, enjoy the many other races during the course of each year.
Except for traditional road running, runners and walkers participate in fun runs, cross-country events, trail running, marathons, ultra marathons and long walks, often using Table Mountain and the countryside as a backdrop for these events.
This website will assist you with these running events in the South-Western Cape.
All for the love of running.
